John Warchus: the losses you incur could be huge
|
Despite the recent serious downturn in the technology sector, the market for IT outsourcing services is growing in North America, Europe and Asia. Internet Week.com, for example, estimates that the European market will grow from $16 billion in 2000 to some $26 billion by 2005.
Notwithstanding this growth, it is a sad reality that a significant number of outsourcing relationships fail in their first two years. In Dun & Bradstreet’s recent report on global outsourcing, the conclusion was that relationships failed not because outsourcing was the wrong approach, but because important details had been overlooked.
