Traditional ESPs have been reacting to client demands for about two years. During this period, they have not been investing in the development of unique and differentiated offerings that will create demand for their services.
The changes that ESPs have been making have been in response to client needs. For example, as enterprises increasingly express interest in business process outsourcing (BPO) services, traditional ESPs are adding such services to their portfolios, and new ESPs are springing up as BPO providers.
