Today, the applications that customers use reside both inside and outside the corporate firewall, and the traffic between browser-based clients and servers crosses boundaries that existing enterprise systems management (ESM) tools do not see and thus cannot monitor and manage.
With their vertical partition bias, traditional ESM tools are simply not designed to meet the demands of today’s web-based applications.
