A number of leading e-businesses like Amazon, eBay and Friends Reunited are now reaching profitability after widespread dotcom gloom. In fact, at least 20% of dotcoms are now making an operating profit, according to McKinsey & Company.
One of the reasons for this is a change in priorities from customer acquisition to customer retention, based on superior website quality of service or quality of experience. Many of today’s success stories have found that delivering a superior user experience relies heavily on improving business practices through the better management of internet sites.
